How AIM Therapy Helps Your Pain

AIM manual physical therapy is the natural way of helping your body recover from pain and weakness.  At AIM your pain and difficulty moving is extensively evaluated by an expert physical therapist who has years of training in medical evaluation of musculoskeletal conditions.

Your physical therapist then discusses with you as he evaluates your body the findings and formulates a plan of addressing the root causes of your pain.  The plan may include modalities such as ultrasound to relieve your pain, specialized gentle manual therapy to increase your soft tissue and joint mobility, and a customized easy to do exercise program to strengthen key areas.

The key to a great recovery is a customized treatment plan just for you.  At AIM Physical Therapy we have the knowledge and exclusive skills to treat your pain and get you back quickly to enjoying your activities.

Knee And Hip Arthritis

The most common form of arthritis is Osteoarthritis.  This affects over 27 million americans and will continue to grow as our population ages.

The cartilage provides the synovial joint fluid that lubricates the hip and knee.  With osteoarthritis, the cartilage becomes thin and worn in places, thus a loss of lubrication occurs.  This causes stiffness, irritation and pain.

The goal of A.I.M.’s customized therapy is to reduce or eliminate your pain and improve or enhance your ability to perform daily tasks safely.  The result:  increased mobility and greater productivity in work or life.  We educate you about your condition, treatment options, increase your strength and balance.  If you’ve been diagnosed with OA, you should speak to your primary care physician about getting A.I.M. physical therapy along with your medication to keep you active.

Helping your knee and hip pain

A knee or hip problem can put you out of commission, fast.  Back and hip pain often go together.  If you have pain, swelling or stiffness and you cannot bear weight on your knee, or if you have difficulty walking, you need a licensed physical therapist.

Your doctor may even recommend physical therapy.  Gentle and noninvasive, physical therapy for the knee or hip helps increase range of motion, relieve pain, restore strength and function, and prevent reinjury.

We have decades of combined experience helping people of all ages with knee and hip problems.  Our highly trained and knowledgeable physical therapists use manual, hands-on techniques.  Our therapists also offer extensive one-on-one training to help you avoid future knee and hip injuries.  We can help with:

  1. Knee pain or stiffness that gets worse over time, from overuse or osteoarthritis

  2. Sudden injury, rupture or tearing of the anterior cruciate ligament while playing sports, falling or some other accident

  3. Rehab after knee or hip surgery, including total hip replacement, total knee replacement, or repair of the ACL or surgical treatment of torn meniscus

  4. Hip arthritis, bursitis & tendonitis
