Free Neck Pain Guide
Want to know what is causing your pain and what can be done to help you relieve it?

Why Does Your Neck Hurt?
Do you find yourself not being able to turn your head and neck like you use to? Do you find that your neck is very tense and hard to relax? Do you sometimes have neck pain, dizziness, ear pain, or headaches? Do you find you have numbness and tingling into your hands, a sign of carpal tunnel or a herniated disc?
The neck is made up of 7 cervical vertebrae (bones) that are held together with ligaments and move with the aide of the muscles. The muscles of the neck and shoulder work together so that you can support the weight of your head and brain allowing you to look in many different directions. There are many causes of neck pain including poor posture, car accidents which can even be years old, working at a desk or computer for many hours a day, stress, tension, and weakness to the upper back.
Typically, people who suffer with neck pain also have some form of scapula or shoulder blade weakness. These muscles are very important for the support of your neck, but often become weak due to rounded shoulders and poor posture. The muscles at the top of the neck are responsible for 60%of your ability to turn your head. Therefore, when the muscles at the top of the neck become tight for many different reasons, you can experience head pain, headaches, and neck pain. Since your spine works as a unit, even your back can be affected with back pain and sciatica.
We can help you with safe and natural physical therapy treatments. AIM Physical Therapy can help restore your normal movement and enjoy doing the activities you use to do. We help patients from all over Palm Beach County, including Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth, and Boca Raton.
Unfortunately, headaches and migraines are often treated with medication alone. There are many causes of headaches including neck problems, food, smells, stress, trauma, whiplash, jaw problems (TMJ), sinus congestion, alcohol, and hormonal cycles. Two days to 3 weeks after a car accident or trauma, symptoms and headaches may appear. The use of medication only treats the symptoms of the headache and does not attempt to fix the cause of the headache.
How Does AIM Physical Therapy Help Eliminate Your Neck Pain?
AIM Physical Therapy address the root cause of your neck pain. Do you have stiffness in your neck muscles and joints? Do you feel weak when trying to lift objects and raise your arms above your head? These are signs of the cause of your neck pain. You can eliminate your pain by having a trained physical therapist, a medical expert in evaluating the way your body moves.
An AIM physical therapist spends years of training in how to examine how your muscles, bones, and joints move. When there is improper movement, your physical therapist is trained to pinpoint the source of this incorrect movement and weakness. A plan is then made up to address these limitations with specialized manual therapy to relieve sore muscles, help joints move again, to gently stretch tight tissues. Then your therapists works with you to develop a specific plan of gentle exercises that will gradually strengthen your neck and shoulder muscles so that your neck is supported.
The end result is your ability to turn your head, sit at a computer, lift objects, and enjoy your life free from neck pain and radiating arm pain.

What patients are saying about the A.I.M. Experience...
“I have had 3 herniated discs in my neck. When they tighten up, I am in extreme pain. Because of the manual therapy done here at AIM, my movement without pain increased considerably. The treatment here is great, and the therapists who administer them are even greater! This is the second time I have had this therapy and I really think it saves me a lot of pain.” - Anne S.
“My physical therapy was very good - helpful and energetic. The therapy personally were excellent! I would highly recommend this system (AIM) for anyone, even if not impaired with physical ailments.”- John K.
“Prior to treatment at AIM , I could barely lift my arms. Now I have more mobility. The pain and headaches made it impossible for me to do anything. Now I spend most of my day pain free. Therefore, I am able to do more, and this is only after 3 visits. I am truly thankful for what they’ve done.” - Norma C.
