Do you find yourself not being able to turn your head and neck like you use to? Do you find that your neck is very tense and hard to relax? Do you sometimes have neck pain, dizziness, ear pain, or headaches? Do you find you have numbness and tingling into your hands, a sign of carpal tunnel or a herniated disc?
Typically, people who suffer with neck pain also have some form of scapula or shoulder blade weakness. These muscles are very important for the support of your neck, but often become weak due to rounded shoulders and poor posture. The muscles at the top of the neck are responsible for 60% of your ability to turn your head. Therefore, when the muscles at the top of the neck become tight for many different reasons, you can experience head pain, headaches, and neck pain. Since your spine works as a unit, even your back can be affected with back pain and sciatica.
Back Pain
Your spine relies on the unique movements of your pelvis, hips, legs, shoulders, and even your feet to function properly. It supports your body weight, gives you structure to stand upright, and protects your spinal cord, the information superhighway of your body. Your back takes a beating everyday with ordinary sitting, bending, lifting, and walking activities. Over your lifetime you can lose the following necessary factors for a healthy spine.
AIM manual physical therapy is the natural way of helping your body recover from back pain. At AIM your spine is extensively evaluated by an expert physical therapist who has years of training in medical evaluation of musculoskeletal conditions.
Your physical therapist then discusses with you as he evaluates your spine the findings and formulates a plan of addressing the root causes of your pain. The plan may include modalities such as ultrasound to relieve your pain, specialized gentle manual therapy to increase your soft tissue and joint mobility, and a customized easy to do exercise program to strengthen key areas.
We can help you with safe and natural physical therapy treatments. AIM Physical Therapy can help restore your normal movement and enjoy doing the activities you use to do.

Shoulder Pain

- Bursitis
- Radiating arm pain
- Pain in the shoulder blade
- Frozen shoulder
- Post Surgery Rehab
The shoulder is the most complicated joint in your body. The reason is that it has to move through a very large range of motion while maintaining strength and stability.
There are many reasons why a shoulder can begin to hurt and stop you from doing normal activities. However, it boils down to 4 simple factors that your shoulder joint needs to be healthy and function properly:
If you start to lose flexibility, strength, posture or coordination, the shoulder becomes unbalanced and a resulting increased strain occurs. This can lead to a build up of inflammation, degeneration of shoulder muscle tissue, and long term joint damage such as arthritis.

Walking / Balance Difficulties
- Poor balance
- Dizziness
- Vertigo
- Fear of Falling
- Poor Walking
- Learning how to walk without canes and walkers
Difficulty with walking leads to a downward spiral of physical and emotional well being. A natural part of the aging process is a gradual decrease in balance reactions. This leads to a feeling of uneasiness when faced with walking up or down stairs, walking on unsteady surfaces such as grass and gravel. Falls are the number one cause of death in people over 65 from trauma. Medicare is very proactive in having balance and walking screenings in physical therapy to make sure problems with walking and balance are caught early.
We evaluate to determine what areas of your body you are having difficulty moving that are affecting your walking and balance. We perform neurological, vestibular balance, and orthopedic evaluations and then put together a comprehensive plan to get you back to walking confidently and without limitations. It is never too late to improve your walking and balance, even if you use a cane or walker to get around. Our gait training program helps you walk better.

Foot & Ankle Pain
- Achilles tendonitis
- Plantar fasciitis
- Ankle sprains
- Ankle Stiffness/ lack of range on motion
- Post surgery rehab
- Recovery from bunionectomy and other foot surgeries
Plantar fascitis is a very common foot condition that occurs from excessive pressure on the plantar fascia at the bottom of the foot. This thick band of tissue helps to give your arches support and acts as a spring to help propel you forward.
Pain occurs from excessive strain to the plantar fascia which usually begins close to the heel. This results as heel pain which may occur with the first steps in the morning or after you have been sitting for awhile.
At A.I.M. Physical Therapy our plantar fascitis treatment and manual evaluation focuses on finding the causes of this excessive strain on the plantar fascia to alleviate the pressure and pain. Problems with your foot, ankle, knee, and even hip joints can cause changes in your walking which affect the plantar fascia. Our comprehensive hands on treatments help to sooth the irritated fascia. In combination with modalities such as ultrasound, the inflammation is soon relieved and then we can help you get back to walking, running, and doing the activities you love to do.
We can help you with safe and natural physical therapy treatments. AIM Physical Therapy can help restore your normal movement and enjoy doing the activities you use to do.

Vertigo & Dizziness
- Difficulty Walking
- Spinning
- Loss of Balance
Your balance systems are complex and intricate. They involve coordination of information coming from the eyes, middle ear, and information from the joints in your neck, body, and legs. Your brain makes sense of the incoming signals and paints a picture of where your head and body are in space at all times. When these signals get confused such as for example on a boat with the swaying back and forth of your body, but your eyes seeing different movement, the result is dizziness, nausea, and poor balance.
If the brain cannot rely on the information it receives from the vestibular system, a person's ability to maintain posture and coordinate balance can become overly dependent on vision or on the information received from the muscles and joints (proprioception).
Unfortunately, these types of adaptation can result in dizziness headaches, neckache, muscle stiffness, general fatigue, and a decrease in the ability to retrain the brain to adjust to the vestibular problem, hence making the symptoms much worse. At A.I.M. Physical Therapy the goal of Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy is to retrain the brain to recognize and process signals from the vestibular system in coordination with information from vision and proprioception. This often involves desensitizing the balance system to movements that provoke symptoms. During the evaluation, our therapists will observe posture, balance, movement, and compensatory strategies. Using the result of this evaluation, the therapist will develop an individualized treatment plan that may include the epley maneuver and specific head, body, and eye exercises to be performed both in the therapy setting and at home. Many times, treatment may also include increasing activities and exercise in order to strengthen muscles and increase tolerance for symptom-provoking stimuli.
